About
My journey into software development began in an unlikely place: a watchmaker’s bench. For years, I worked with precision instruments, learning the value of attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the satisfaction that comes from making something complex work beautifully.
From Timepieces to Code
In 2016, I discovered Ruby and fell in love with its elegance and philosophy. The same principles that guided my work as a watchmaker - precision, elegance, and reliability - translated perfectly to writing code. Ruby’s focus on developer happiness and readable syntax felt like a natural fit.
What I Do
I specialize in Ruby on Rails development, building web applications that prioritize:
- User Experience: Applications should be intuitive and solve real problems
- Code Quality: Clean, maintainable code that stands the test of time
- Performance: Efficient, scalable solutions that grow with business needs
- Reliability: Systems that work consistently, just like a well-crafted timepiece
Skills & Technologies
- Languages: Ruby, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Frameworks: Ruby on Rails, Stimulus, Hotwire
- Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis
- Tools: Git, Docker, Linux, various APIs and integrations
- Testing: RSpec, Minitest, Capybara
Philosophy
Having worked with my hands crafting precise mechanical movements, I bring that same dedication to craftsmanship to software development. Every line of code should serve a purpose, every feature should enhance the user experience, and every application should be built to last.
Let’s Connect
I’m always interested in discussing Ruby, Rails, software architecture, or the fascinating parallels between traditional craftsmanship and modern development.
